A Million Bentos

I've been gone for a couple of months.  Christmas craziness forced me to take a break, and then one week turned into two, and then it was just too dang easy to neglect this blog.  I have been making bentos every day, and even taking photos here and there.  And the time has come to get back to it.  Every night?  I don't know.  But I promise to be back at least a couple of times a week.

So here are some of the bentos I've made over the past two months.  You'll notice a couple of holiday themes - cucumber and grape tomato holly, a snowman, a couple of hearts for Valentine's Day.  I'm not going to explain each of these bentos because they're self explanatory, but if there's something you want clarified or a recipe or something, by all means, ask!

So here's to 2011, readers!  Back on the bento blogging train!  I'm sorry to have been gone so long - and I thank you for your messages, comments and emails asking me to come back. Makes a girl feel loved!

More Holiday Cheer!

It's times like these that I'm embarrassed to say that I make bentos.  I look at some of the other moms doing holiday bentos and I think WOWThat is amazing. And here are my holiday bentos.  Scrawny and pathetic.  I suppose that's the point of my blog, that you can make simple, Americanized bentos even when you don't have a lot of time (or creativity in my case!).  Let's face it, Lovey is none the wiser.  She loves it anyway, even if I can't recreate the Sistine Chapel in a bento box.

Here is tomorrow's bento for Lovey:

In this bento: Two cream cheese and jelly gingerbread man-shaped sandwiches with sugar star buttons. blueberry yogurt, a rice krispie treat with two gingerbread man picks, red pepper stars and a clementine with a star cut out.

And this is CeeCee's lunch for tomorrow:
In this bento: Half a cream cheese and jelly sandwich diced up, pear, Baby Bel cheese, frozen peas (which will thaw by lunch tomorrow, and a clementine.

And here is Lovey's lunch from yesterday - I was too tired to post.  Plus, I was afraid my scary snowmen would scare some of you away.

In this bento: Two ham and cheese snowman-cut sandwiches with sugar eyes and a fruit leather bow tie for one and a fruit leather mouth for the other, carrots, blueberry yogurt, and an apple with stars cut out.

Happy weekend, all!

This is certainly the funniest blog post I've read in a long while.  I had to spread the joy. . .
